Alison Davies was born and raised in Berkeley, CA, where the cartoon bubbles above people’s heads would say, “What’s for dinner?” She now lives in Santa Cruz, where she is finishing her master’s thesis in literature, and during breaks can be found sampling wines from the Central Coast and avoiding the deep-fried Twinkies at the Boardwalk. She has worn many hats in the food and wine industries, including working at several snazzy Bay Area restaurants, bartending, apprenticing on an organic fruit farm in Hawaii, and editing for the food section of a local magazine. She believes that it is important to be thoughtful about food and wine, but equally important not to take it too seriously. Happily, Alison will drop just about anything to sit around a table whiling the night away with family and friends.
